RECREATION RESORT RZY

The Rzy Recreational Resort is designed with respect to the history of the site. We work with the geomorphology and terrain of the area, aiming for an organic integration into the surrounding environment. The design creates a space that becomes an integral part of the landscape.

URBANISM

The resort is divided into three distinct components: apartment buildings, chalets, and a wellness operations cluster. Each part is given its own character while maintaining the original concept of the complex.

The apartments are positioned with regard to views and operational connections. Their typology draws inspiration from traditional farm and residential buildings as well as cottages. The chalets are designed as smaller accommodation units, referencing the original pioneer-style cabins. The arrangement of the chalets follows an elliptical layout, echoing a camp-like organization around a central fire pit.

The wellness operations cluster is located in the western part of the site, positioned in contact with the surrounding forests. The layout of the buildings is oriented according to views and cardinal directions.

SITE POSITIONING
The placement of the buildings is guided by the terrain configuration and orientation to the cardinal directions. The smaller chalets are positioned on the slope, while the apartment buildings are located on the flat area in the valley of the stream.

VIEWS AND PRIVACY
The buildings are designed with adequate spacing and appropriate orientation to provide unobstructed views of the surrounding landscape while maintaining privacy.

SITE INTEGRATION
The complex blends naturally with its surroundings, without fences or other barriers, harmoniously integrating into the landscape.

ARCHITECTURE AND CONSTRUCTION

The building typology is unified through archetypal principles. We work with gable roofs, proportions, and the scale of the volumes, using a consistent motif of wood throughout.

The apartment buildings are designed as two-wing structures. The base is constructed as a monolithic concrete structure, while the above-ground floors are made of CLT panels. Each unit has direct contact with the exterior via a front garden or a loggia. Building B is complemented with a dining facility and a terrace overlooking the pond.

The chalets are positioned on the slope. We design a semi-underground floor for parking and storage, while the above-ground floors are constructed as timber buildings using CLT panels. The interiors emphasize openness to nature, providing front gardens and loggias to maintain a direct connection with the landscape.

BUILDING PLACEMENT ON THE SITE
The layout of the buildings allows the ground-floor units to have direct access to the garden, while the upper-floor units feature terraces with views of the surrounding landscape.

SITE ORIENTATION
The placement of the buildings ensures maximum privacy while also providing attractive views of the surrounding landscape.

CONNECTIVITY
The buildings can be connected both vertically and horizontally, depending on the chosen typology.

ORIENTATION TO CARDINAL DIRECTIONS
Each residential unit is designed to have access to natural sunlight, with an orientation at least partially toward the southwest or southeast.
